This year, the International Game Development Association (IGDA) will once again be supporting the 4C Conference.
The IGDA is the largest non-profit membership organization in the world serving all individuals who create games. As an international organization, the IGDA is a U.S. based professional association that exists as a global network of collaborative projects and communities comprised of individuals from all fields of game development - from programmers and producers to writers, artists, QA and localization. They bring together developers at key industry conferences, in over 90 Chapters and in Special Interest Groups (SIGs) to improve their lives and their craft.
Last year at 4C: St.Petersburg the IGDA was hosting a panel on micro-networking which was helpful for new and veteran video game professionals. This year the partnership extends: they will be running a whole Community track which will cover the topics of player management, community building, and much more.
This year, the IGDA is also excited to bring its IGDA Mentorship Café to 4C: Prague! The Mentor Cafés are designed to provide meaningful learning opportunities for all its participants. The Mentor Cafés are open to anyone in the game development community seeking mentorship regardless of years of experience which will provide a great opportunity to newcomers in the profession. Topics will range from career advice, indie studio start-up, diversity initiatives, and much more. 4C will host the IGDA Mentor Café as part of this year’s first ever 4C Career Hub.
The IGDA Mentor Café will take place on Friday and Saturday, 5-6 October at 17:00-19:00 CEST each day; space is limited. To participate you have to have a 4C badge and complete the registration:
